Dr. Laura Deyo, DDS, MS
Dr. Laura Deyo provides expert orthodontic care at Stellar Orthodontics in San Marcos, California. A Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, she has been helping children, teens, and adults achieve confident smiles since 2012.
Known for her approachable style and advanced clinical training, Dr. Laura delivers personalized orthodontic treatment with modern tools such as Invisalign®, 3D cone beam imaging, digital treatment planning, and a wide range of advanced appliances.
Dr. Laura Deyo was born and raised in Southern California. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). She continued her studies at the University of Southern California (USC), where she received her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree.
At USC, she also completed a three-year postdoctoral residency in orthodontics, earning both a Master of Science in Craniofacial Biology and a Certificate in Orthodontics. This specialized training provided her with advanced expertise in diagnosing and treating a wide range of orthodontic needs.
Dr. Laura stays current with the latest orthodontic advancements, including:
- Invisalign® (Certified since 2010)
- 3D Cone Beam Imaging (CBCT)
- Experience with multiple bracket systems and advanced appliances (TADs, Herbst, Carriere distalizers, Face Mask Therapy, Forsus, Powerscope, Hyrax expanders)
Dr. Laura has participated in multiple research studies during her academic training, including:
- Class II Treatment Study (2010–2011): Investigated whether two-phase treatment reduces the need for extractions in Class II patients.
- BMP2 Signaling Study (2007–2009): Researched the role of BMP2 in accelerating bone healing around dental implants, earning 2nd Place at USC Research Day in 2008.
Dr. Laura believes in giving back through service. Her involvement includes:

Away from the practice, Dr. Laura enjoys spending time with her husband, Jason, and their three children. Together they love puzzles, Legos, and board games. Personally, she enjoys trail running, reading the Bible and Catholic teachings, orthodontic literature, and parenting resources. Faith is central to her family’s life, and they attend Mass together weekly.
